Serena Williams finally reacts to rumours of rift with Meghan Markle
Serena Williams finally rejected the speculations her friendship with Meghan Markle has come to an end on social media
Serena Williams has finally reacted to the rumours of rift with Meghan Markle after she failed to mention the Duchess at the Met Gala.
The tennis legend’s appearance at the 2026 event alongside Emma Thynn and Edward Enninful had sparked fresh speculation about whether one of her most visible friendships with Meghan has quietly cooled.
The insiders had told the Radar Online, “At a night like the Met Gala, nothing about who you stand beside is accidental. It is one of the most carefully observed stages in the celebrity world.”
The same source had argued that Williams spending time with figures who have themselves been linked to past distance from Meghan would inevitably invite interpretation.
“Whether she intended it that way or not, the visual narrative suggests a shift in loyalties, or at the very least a rebalancing of where those personal alliances now sit,” the source said.
Now, amid these rumours, Serena has finally rejected the speculations her friendship with Meghan Markle has come to an end.
Meghan took to Instagram and shared a photo with her sweet daughter Princess Lilibet before departing to Geneva.
Meghan shared the photo with caption “Mama’s little helper” followed by a heart emoticon.
Fans and friends reacted to the photo. The critics also slammed the Duchess for her post.
However, Serena Williams sent love to Meghan by pressing the heart button on the post, apparently also dismissing the rumours of any rift.
