Owen Cooper makes history with BAFTA TV Award win for ‘Adolescence’
Owen Cooper's latest win at BAFTA comes on the heels of a string of victories
Owen Cooper, a fast-rising British star, has made history. At the BAFTA TV Awards, he won for supporting actor for his role in Adolescence.
The latest win is yet another feather in the teenage actor's cap.
Earlier, for his screen role, Cooper scooped all four top U.S. TV awards: Emmy, Golden Globe, Critics' Choice, and SAG Award.
Now, he has a BAFTA.
In his acceptance speech, the actor has been oozing confidence, as he says, “Wow, it’s heavy that, to be fair.”
"A year ago this time last year I was presenting an award, and now I’m collecting one, so this is a bit mad.”
He continues, “Thank you to BAFTA. Thank you to the ‘Adolescence’ family — and they are family now."
“In the words of John Lennon, you won’t get anything unless you have the vision to imagine it.”
Capping off his speech, Cooper drops three items needed to succeed in life: “One, an obsession. Two, a dream. And three, the Beatles.”
