Prince Harry is commemorating renowned British broadcaster Sir David Attenborough's 100th birthday.

The Duke of Sussex penned down a heartfelt essay dedicated to the natural historian, also known as "Voice of Nature" for his more than seven decades of career documenting the natural world.

As the broadcaster has close relations with the royal family, Harry wrote, “For almost anyone who grew up in the United Kingdom, Sir David Attenborough is more than a broadcaster; he is a secular saint.

“He is an institutional pillar as essential to the national fabric as a cup of tea.”

The duke went on to gush over Sir David's remarkable storytelling and appreciated his work to conserve nature, “He has earned the world’s trust by simply showing us that our environment is worth appreciating. He didn’t demand our attention, but drew us in with the wonder of nature all the same.”

He continued, "When a man who has quite literally seen it all begins to describe the loss of the planet's stability, he isn't being provocative. He is reporting from the front lines of a planet he has known longer, and more intimately, than almost anyone alive.”

Harry further reflected how he not only grabbed senior audience attention but also connected to younger generations as well. Harry noted, “To a generation overwhelmed by noise and uncertainty, Attenborough represents credible authenticity."

For those unversed, Sir David shared the stories of the world's ecosystems via the BBC "Life" series with Life on Earth, The Living Planet, Blue Planet, and Planet Earth.

He was also recognized as a Knight twice by the royal family, first by Queen Elizabeth II in 1985 and then King Charles III honored him in 2022 for his work in broadcasting and conservation.
