Spotify AI DJ now speaks French, German, Italian
Spotify rolls out AI DJ in French, German, Italian, and Brazilian Portuguese, reaching 75+ countries
Spotify's AI DJ feature now speaks four new languages, French, German, Italian, and Brazilian Portuguese, expanding its reach to more than 75 countries. Each language version features a distinct AI personality: Maia, Ben, Alex, and Dani.
The launch represents an important advancement which enables personalised AI music curation to become an international product that exceeds the previous limitations of Spotify, which offered English and Spanish support.
Spotify's AI DJ system has developed from its original function as a basic commentator into a full-fledged interactive dialogue system. The platform launched voice command functionality in May 2025, which enabled users to request AI mood and genre changes at any moment.
The AI DJ became a ChatGPT-style music curator when Spotify introduced text-based prompts six months after the DJ's initial release. Users can now obtain particular songs, mood-based playlists and AI explanations of track preferences.
The interactive elements of the system changed background commentary into a system that actively assists users in discovering music.
The introduction of French, German, Italian and Brazilian Portuguese allows Spotify to enter new markets which previously faced language challenges that restricted users from accessing AI functions. The localised AI DJ experience now operates in Austria, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, South Korea and Switzerland.
