With Mental Health Awareness Week fast approaching, the Prince of Wales and first in line to the British throne is planning a brand new suicide prevention center, given that suicide is still considered one of the biggest killers of men under the age of 35 in the UK, according to GB News.

The launch will come next week and the center is being dubbed ‘James Place’, and runs even two decades after a young man named James lost his life to suicide at that age of 21, merely ten days following a minor surgical procedure.

It’s said he had continued to struggle with severe anxiety and suicidal thoughts but was unable to procure mental health support in time. This led his own parents in 2008 to create James Palace, in order to safeguard other families from the same fate.

According to the same outlet, since its founding James’ Place has provided support to over 5,100 men “experiencing suicidal crisis across its network of centres.”

The Prince of Wales will tour this new center in Birmingham on May 11th after having inaugurated similar centers in Liverpool, London and Newcastle.

During his time there he is said to be planning talks with local partners, staff and even those individuals who received the support they needed during their times of crises’.

What is also pertinent to mention is that The Royal Foundation’s funding has allowed the center to start trial two satellite services in the North East and North West of England for a 12-month period, in order to extend free therapeutic support to local communities.
