Nick Cannon recently lifted the curtain on why he has not allowed his daughter Monroe to date while his son, Moroccan, is free.

For those unaware, the 45-year-old American comedian and actor is the father of 12 children, whom he welcomed with six different women. He welcomed twins, Monroe and Moroccan, with Mariah Carey in 2011.

Cannon was invited on the Saturday, May 2 episode of The TMZ Podcast, where he talked about his parenting style, especially his "double standard,” as he has a different approach for the dating lives of his 15-year-old twins.

“My son [Moroccan] has been dating, and I’ve allowed it, I encouraged it. And my daughter…,” he shared, leaving the sentence incomplete when it came to his daughter’s romantic life.

“I hope you’ve been allowing it and encouraging that, too,” the podcast host quipped, to which The Masked Singer host responded, “No, absolutely not.”

He explained, “First of all, it’s absolutely a double standard… And I know I get in trouble a lot ‘cause I say things with my chest. But there is a difference when parenting a son and then when parenting a daughter.”

Cannon stated that he is “more protective” of Monroe because “there [are] things out there that I have to protect my daughter from. Like, as we know, there are a certain type of individuals that you want to keep your daughter away from.”

The Wild 'n Out creator elaborated that being a guy is completely different, as they usually do not call their parents crying when something unfortunate occurs, and this is exactly what he expects from Moroccan, but it will be altogether a different scenario if Monroe does that.

“If somebody puts their hands on my daughter, I’m going to jail. If some man puts his hands on my daughter, it’s my worst nightmare because I am going to jail forever,” Nick Cannon claimed.
