Is Spotify still down? Users face ongoing app issues
Spotify down reports ease after peak outage with 3,000+ complaints causing streaming issues
The music lovers experienced a quiet morning because Spotify experienced a major service outage which affected its entire system. The service problems reached their highest point at 10:00am GMT when more than 3000 users reported their issues through the Downdetector tracking site.
The company has begun service restoration work but not all users can access the platform because it still operates at reduced capacity.
The mobile application receives most of the user complaints because they experience more issues than the desktop software. Users report intermittent problems which cause the application to function correctly for one song before it crashes or fails to play the next track. The glitches show that the servers continue to have difficulties processing the high volume of users who try to log in at the same time.
The reports about the spotify outage have started to decrease but the application still experiences problems when it tries to establish a connection with the internet.
Users have different experiences because some can access their playlists but cannot play music while others experience complete application shutdowns upon opening the program.
Reportedly, the technical teams at Spotify are currently developing a solution but they have not yet disclosed the specific reasons which caused system failures.
