Billie Eilish talks about her longstanding connection to Arabic music
Billie Eilish has expressed her love for Lebanese superstar Nancy Ajram.
In a new interview with E! News, the 24-year-old American singer talked about her longstanding connection to Arabic music.
“I have always been really inspired by Arabic singers," said Billie. "My dad and I have bonded over our love for Arabic music."
"Like, I freaking love Nancy Ajram. She’s one of my favorite singers,” she added.
For those unversed, Nancy is a Lebanese singer who is widely known as the Queen of Arab Pop. She is best known for songs such as Akhasmak Ah, Fi Hagat, and Badna Nwallea El Jaw.
In response to Billie’s praise, Nancy took to her X handle and penned, “Her talent and authenticity inspire so many around the world, including me."
"Sending @billieeilish lots of love, always," she added along with three red hearts emojis.
This is not the first time Billie has highlighted Nancy's work. In fact, during a 2020 episode of her radio program Me & Dad, the Lovely songstress also expressed her admiration for the Lebanese star.
“I’m going to cheer myself up by playing a very special song to me that’s in Arabic. This is Nancy Ajram whom I love," she said at that time.
"I love this song and I love another song she made called ‘Inta Eyh,’” added Billie.
