For those unaware, Woodley portrayed Clay, the main survivor, whose tale is similar to Agent Xavier Collins, played by Sterling K. Brown.

On Tuesday, April 27, she showed up at Disney’s Toast to Television event in Los Angeles, where she talked about her inclusion in the sophomore season of the post-apocalyptic thriller.

While conversing with PEOPLE magazine, the 34-year-old American actress shared, “Annie and I are actually very different, which was fun to play somebody that was very different than who I am.”

“I think the one point of relation is we’re both quite resilient, but the way that we practice that resiliency is different,” she explained. “I’m an emotional roller coaster sometimes and Annie is quite linear, I think, in her approach and practical.”

Woodly went on to confess that she “only read one episode” of Paradise, adding, “I spoke with [creator] Dan Fogelman about the arc of Annie, so I knew what was to come, but I hadn’t actually read it.”

Notably, the Big Little Lies star had the slightest clue what things would turn out but she “did know how it was going to end, but I didn’t know all of the beats in between. There was no script.”

It is pertinent to mention that Paradise season 2, which premiered on February 23, 2026, on Hulu, ended on March 30, 2026. The show had an ensemble cast, including James Marsden, Julianne Nicholson, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Thomas Doherty, Charlie Evans, Sarah Shahi, and others.
