King Charles is best weapon as Donald Trump prepares to pick fight
King Charles is expected to use his soft skills in order to dissolve tensions between UK and America
King Charles is considered the only option as times are tough between the United States and the United Kingdom.
His Majesty, who is currently visiting America for his official tour alongside Queen Camilla, is urged to make amends with US President Donald Trump, days after UK Prime Minister Kier Starmer refused to join war in the Middle East.
Speaking about King Charles special role on the trip, Royal expert Russell Myers tell Mirror: “There’s a lot more riding on this state visit than hugs, kisses and cups of tea at the White House.”
He adds: “Many in the United Kingdom - and across the world - will be hoping King Charles can deliver the soft diplomacy so needed, with a president and an administration who seem to pick fights with world leaders, according to their mood.”
“It is Trump, who is actively threatening that bond, more than any president before him.
The president has delivered a series of brutal barbs over Britain’s perceived failure to join America's latest controversial war in the Middle East.
The expert continues: “The so-called special relationship has been tested like never before leading some to question whether it will stand the test of time under this administration.”
“So who better to deploy in a moment of genuine crisis than our King. The soft power wielded by the royal family is needed now more than ever and a statesman such as Charles has the credentials needed,” he notes.
