Meghan Markle has apparently snubbed King Charles and Queen Camilla’s state visit to the United States of America.

King Charles arrived in Washington Monday for a high-stakes state visit aimed at salvaging frayed ties with Donald Trump.

Tensions over the Iran war have rocked the so-called "special relationship" ahead of a trip that was meant to mark the United States´ 250th anniversary of independence from the British monarch´s ancestors.

The royal couple arrived at Joint Base Andrews near Washington on a plane with the Union Jack painted on the tail.

Charles and Camilla then descended red-carpeted steps to be greeted by Britain´s ambassador Christian Turner and White House protocol chief Monica Crowley on the tarmac.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the visit would "honor the long-standing and special relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom."

The palace released photos of King Charles with US hosts on Instagram, saying “The King and Queen have arrived in Washington DC to begin a four-day State Visit to the USA, on the advice of His Majesty’s Government, and at the invitation of The President of the United States.”

“At the White House, The King and Queen were welcomed by President Trump and the First Lady,” it further said.

Meghan Markle, who returned to Instagram last year, completely snubbed the monarch and Camilla’s visit.

She even did not react to the post shared by the palace regarding King Charles and Camilla’s visits to the US.
