A royal expert has claimed that ahead of King Charles state visit to the United States of America, Prince Harry quietly reached out to the palace for a 'private meeting' with the monarch during his one-day stop in Manhattan.

The palace aides were open to the idea of the private meeting, however, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s recent trip to Australia changed everything.

The insiders told royal expert Rob Shuter, “Team Sussex quietly tried to arrange a private New York meeting with the King during the couple’s one-day stop in Manhattan — carefully positioned away from Washington, Trump, and the political optics of the U.S. trip.

“For a brief moment, palace aides were open to the idea.”

However, the close insiders told the expert that with Harry and Meghan’s latest quasi-royal tour of Australia “everything changed”.

The source says, “That trip killed it. The palace saw the optics and pulled back fast.”

Harry, the insiders say, is still “pushing hard for face time” with his father.

“But palace aides remain deeply wary of what that meeting would actually deliver,” the source explains.

King Charles arrived in Washington Monday for a high-stakes state visit aimed at salvaging frayed ties with Donald Trump.

Tensions over the Iran war have rocked the so-called "special relationship" ahead of a trip that was meant to mark the United States´ 250th anniversary of independence from the British monarch´s ancestors.
