Kyle Tucker seals Dodgers victory with walk off single in comeback against Marlins
The Dodgers trailed late in the game after an uncharacteristic outing from pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto
Kyle Tucker delivered a decisive moment for the Los Angeles Dodgers, hitting a walk-off single to secure a 5-4 win over the Miami Marlins.
The Dodgers trailed late in the game after an uncharacteristic outing from pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto, but mounted a comeback in the ninth inning at Dodger Stadium.
According to reports, Miami closer Pete Fairbanks issued consecutive walks before Shohei Ohtani hit a double the to right field, driving in a run and putting two runners in scoring position.
Fairbanks then exited with an apparent injury with Tyler Phillips taking over.
After a strikeout by Will Smith, Tucker stepped up with two outs. He connected on a splitter and sent the ball into the outfield, bringing home two runs to seal the victory.
The win marks an important moment for Tucker, who had a slow start to his time with the Dodgers.
Los Angeles now leads the series after a dramatic opening game comeback.
