The 43-year-old American actress recently appeared on Good Morning America, where she was asked if she really wanted to move beyond narrow body ideals and wanted to see a less uniform range of body types.

Responding to a question, she said she raised her voice for it after seeing many "traditionally sized models" on set.

The Interstellar star went on to share that recasting did not lead to anyone being fired.

Hathaway explained, "It was this quick thing that happened on set, and now it's become a much bigger story. Actually, I do want to mention some misinformation getting out there right now that people were fired because of the size inclusivity, and that just didn't happen."

"Nobody lost their jobs; in fact, it created more jobs. It was just about making sure that so many different body types saw themselves in a moment in the script....”

"There's a song that [Lady] Gaga wrote and it's a beautiful amazing song. Isn't it better when you see so many different types of bodies up there with that?" she said.

It is pertinent to mention that Anne Hathaway is reprising her role as Andy Sachs in the forthcoming sequel along with Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, Simone Ashley, Pauline Chalamet, and others.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is scheduled to hit cinemas in the United States on May 1, 2026.
