Earlier today, the palace announced that the King and Queen will be arriving in the Washington DC for a four-day state visit to the USA.

Further highlighting the historic UK-US relationship, the palace stated, "For decades, the Royal Family have made visits to the United States to honour the significance of the historic UK-US relationship."

For those unaware, the King and Queen's visit to the US is intended to reinforce the long-standing "special relationship" between the UK and the US at a time of political strain.

It also marks the 250th anniversary of American independence. Through high-level meetings, public engagements, and cultural events, the royal visit aims to project unity and stability between the two allies despite recent tensions.

Since the visit comes just days after shooting incident at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, Donald Trump hailed King Charles as "brave man" for not cancelling official visit.

In the statement on 60 Minutes, President Trump said, "[The King] is a great guy, and we look forward to it. He’s really a fantastic person and a tremendous representative, and he’s brave."

"We’re gonna have a great time, and he represents his nation like nobody else can," he added.
