Nedra Talley Ross, the last surviving member of the iconic beehived girl group The Ronettes, has passed away at the age of 80.
Taking to Facebook, her daughter, Nedra K. Ross, announced the tragic news of her mother’s passing but she did not reveal the exact cause of her death.
She shared, "At approximately 8:30 this morning our mother Nedra Talley Ross went home to be with the Lord.”
"She was safe in her own bed at home with her family close, knowing she was loved. Thank you Lord,” the beloved singer’s daughter stated.
Notably, The Ronettes also informed her fans about the news of her death on social media by writing, "It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Nedra Talley Ross’ passing. She was a light to those who knew and loved her."
"Nedra’s voice, style and spirit helped define a sound that would change music. Her contribution to the group’s story and their defining influence will live forever. Rest peacefully dear Nedra. Thanks for the magic,” the band concluded.
It is pertinent to mention that Nedra Talley Ross and her cousins, Estelle Bennette and Ronnie Spector, founded The Ronettes in 1959 in New York City.
