Before the Nancy Guthrie high-profile kidnapping, the Pima County Sheriff's Department was involved in a literal drama.

Emails dating back to 2025 reveal that the office provided access to arrest footage showing use of force to the Desert of Law docuseries on A&E.

The explosive 220 pages shed light on closer cooperation between the department's deputies and the series producers.

In this partnership, producers, after their requests were granted, tagged along with the cops and even staged scenes for the docuseries.

Not to mention, officers at the Pima County Sheriff's were reportedly told to tip off Desert Law producers whenever a major incident happened.

Such access set off alarm bells inside the department, Fox News reports, before adding an explosive detail.

That is when a producer, revealed in the emails, requested the contact of sergeants from several units; he was told that all senior-level officers had been replaced in the last year.

Enter Nancy Guthrie

She disappeared months after the shooting on Desert Law wrapped up.

Yet, after nearly three months, no suspect has so far been caught in Guthrie's presumed kidnapping, raising doubts about the Pima County Sheriff's Department, whose officers from homicide and cold case units have undergone “rotational reassignments" in the past year.
