The British royal is expected to arrive in the United States on Monday, where the President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump will host a private tea for the king and Queen Camilla.

The king will then address Congress on Tuesday.

According to The Hill, King Charles is then expected to meet with Mamdani for a wreath-laying ceremony at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum on Wednesday, but there is no reporting on whether the pair would meet privately.

“He was invited to join a number of New York elected officials next week at a wreath laying at the 9/11 memorial with members of the British royal family,” Mamdani’s spokesperson Joe Calvello said.

King Charles’ trip to the US marks the first time a British monarch has visited the States since the late-Queen Elizabeth II came to the US in 2007.

This royal visit, which is expected to conclude on Thursday, is intended to commemorate the US's 250th anniversary.

The 250th ‌anniversary is a celebration of the US declaration of independence from British rule, when the then 13 American colonies decided to split from King George III, Charles's five-times-great-grandfather.
