Is Anne Hathaway taking on Anna Wintour?
Anne Hathaway raises eyebrows with bold move
Besides her return in The Devil Wears Prada 2, Anne Hathaway is also making headlines for her strategic move that has sparked buzz across fashion world.
Appearing on the cover of Harper's Bazaar instead of vogue, Anne's decision has been declared as calculated "power play," especially given the long-standing association between The Devil Wears Prada franchise and Anna Wintour.
An insider told Radar Online that the discussions for a potential Vogue feature fell through due to creative differences involving magazine's editorial leadership.
While Anne previously appeared on Vogue's August cover in 2025, sources suggest that the decision reflects a broader strategy as the actress promotes the sequel, positioning herself on her own terms. As per the sources Anne "choosing Bazaar sends a clear message" to the Vogue.
The source said, "If Vogue won't play ball, she has other powerful options."
"This isn't just about one cover. It's about control, influence – and who really runs the game," they added.
It is pertinent to mention that The Devil Wears Prada 2, set to release on May 1, brings back Anne Hathaway alongside Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci.
