Did Trump fall asleep at healthcare affordability event?
Videos appeared to show US President Donald Trump closing his eyes
US President Donald Trump appeared with his eyes closed during a White House healthcare affordability event on Thursday.
The video of the president "nodding off" sparked online mockery but a review of the footage shows no confirmed evidence that Trump was actually asleep.
As CEO of Regeneron Leonard Schleifer was discussing a list of diseases still without a cure, including Alzheimer’s, a sleepy-eyed Trump appeared to nod off.
Sharing the video on X, the president’s opponent, California Governor Gavin Newsom claimed the Trump was “asleep at the wheel.”
As video of the president circulated online, many social media accounts began sharing fabricated pictures showing Trump sleeping at his desk.
His supporters, however, defended the president claiming while Trump may have briefly closed his eyes but claims that the president fell asleep were highly exaggerated.
