Piers Morgan shares meaningful advice for King Charles after US threats on Falkland Islands
King Charles will head to the United States on Monday on the invitation of President Donald Trump
Outspoken journalist Piers Morgan has shared a meaningful advice for King Charles after an internal Pentagon email suggested reviewing the U.S. position on the Falklands as punishment for Britain's stance on the Iran war.
According to Reuters, the Pentagon email outlined options for the United States to punish NATO allies it believes failed to support U.S. operations in the war with Iran, including considering reassessing U.S. diplomatic support for longstanding European "imperial possessions," such as the Falkland Islands near Argentina.
Commenting on it, Piers Morgan tweeted, “If President Trump wants to take the Falkland Islands away from Britain, then we must reclaim the United States.
“Perfect way to celebrate the 250th anniversary of American Independence.”
He went on saying, “King Charles can announce it to Congress next week.”
Earlier, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer spokesperson said the sovereignty of the Falkland Islands rests with Britain.
"We could not be clearer about the UK's position on the Falkland Islands. It is long standing, it is unchanged," the spokesperson told reporters.
King Charles will head to the United States on Monday on the invitation of President Donald Trump.
Both Palace and the British government have said the four-day trip will honour the historic relationship between the two countries as the US marks 250 years of independence.
King Charles first US state visit as monarch comes at the request of the UK government and President Donald Trump and will be made with Queen Camilla, according to the palace.
