King Charles and Queen Camilla hosted a reception in honor of the late monarch's centenary
Buckingham Palace is commemorating 'Earth Day' after the royal family came together to mark Queen Elizabeth's milestone day.
On Wednesday, April 22, the official Instagram page of the royal family marked Earth Day, along with a reminder to take care of mother nature.
In the post, an animated video is shared in which an animated vector image of Earth can be seen transforming into a text that reads, "EARTH DAY 2026 Nature is our sustainer" and the clip ended with blooming leaves from the bottom.
The caption in the post read, "Nature is our sustainer – we are a part of Nature. Therefore, what we do to her, we do to ourselves."
While sharing a reminder for sustainable practices to save the Earth, the statement continued, "Today is Earth Day. This year’s theme ‘Our Power, Our Planet’ highlights the difference we can make when we work together."
The post came several hours after King Charles and Queen Camilla hosted a grand celebration in honor of the late Queen Elizabeth's 100th birthday at Buckingham Palace.
A video from the celebration was posted in which the king can be seen cutting off the cake for the occasion along with his wife Camilla.
The caption of the post read, "The King and Queen, together with members of The Royal Family, have hosted a reception in honor of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace.
