Zayn Malik's battle with undisclosed disease takes dark turn amid 'KONNAKOL' release
Zayn Malik cancels promotion of his recently released fifth studio album 'KONNAKOL' due to health woes
After cancelling the promotion of his latest album KONNAKOL, Zayn Malik is now undergoing evaluation and treatment by a top-notch cardiologist.
Malik’s fifth studio album came out on Friday, April 17, but it came with shocking news of his hospitalization, as he shared a picture of himself lying in a hospital bed.
The photograph also had a note in which the 33-year-old English singer, who is battling with an undisclosed disease, told his fanbase that he was "unexpectedly recovering" after a "long week."
An insider told PEOPLE magazine that the One Direction star has taken a break from promoting his album because of his health challenges. This news comes after he cancelled his scheduled meet-and-greet sessions and his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Per the source, he is now consulting the "no. 1 cardiologist in the world” for further treatment, but the disease he is batting with is still under wraps.
"He's still working through his health issues. He was supposed to appear on Fallon but isn't able to due to doctor's recommendations," revealed the insider.
It is pertinent to mention that Zayn Malik’s first solo headline arena tour, The KONNAKOL Tour, will run from May 12, 2026, to November 20, 2026.
