In a tragic incident reported on April 20, a man shot a ‌Canadian woman dead and injured several others ​before killing himself ​on Monday at Mexico's Teotihuacan ⁠pyramids, a popular tourist ​and archaeological site ​outside of Mexico City, according to authorities.

Mexico's security cabinet ​said the injured ​people were receiving medical care and were sent to nearby hospitals for further treatment.

‌Canada's ⁠foreign ministry did not immediately responded to the unsual incident yet.

The ​pre-Hispanic ​city ⁠was one of the most important ​cultural centers in ​Mesoamerica with full of tourist activities.

Additionally,  Mexico's Teotihuacan ⁠pyramids are also known as 'Pyramids of the Sun.'
