Savannah Guthrie fans react to PCSD social media post: 'Nancy has been located'
Savannah’s mother Nancy Guthrie has been missing since February 1
The fans and friends of Savannah Guthrie have reacted to Pima County Sheriff's Department social media as the search for her mother Nancy Guthrie continues in the third month of her abduction.
The department leading the investigation into Nancy Guthrie’s kidnapping is facing fresh flak after sharing a heart-stopping post that left many thinking Savannah’s mother had been found.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department’s social media team shared a post late Thursday that said simply, “Update: Nancy has been located.”
The post actually referred to Nancy Radakovich, an 82-year-old who bears a striking resemblance to “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie’s still-missing mom.
A fan commented on the post, “With ‘Nancy’ Guthrie being a high profile case across the world, you all did not have any discernment to revise the headline with the surname of Nancy. Yes, the photo is there but it was very misleading at first glance. Even w/the outcry you don't change it.”
Another said, “PCSD, you should be ashamed!”
“I’m beginning to think Pima County Sheriff’s Department is actually a satirical organization. It’s the only explanation for this post. Do you guys require a civil service exam or are you a take what we can get department,” the third said.
The fourth commented, “This Nancy wasn’t even missing for 24 hours! What is this post for his reality tv show? Sheriff NaNO needs to be fired immediately!”
Savannah’s mother Nancy Guthrie has been missing since February 1.
