Buckingham Palace confirms King Charles US visit after Prince Harry's olive branch
Prince Harry’s friend said if the Duke was invited by King Charles, he would get a package of security that automatically kicks in
Buckingham Palace has confirmed that King Charles and Queen Camilla will go ahead with a US State Visit in April “on advice of His Majesty’s government” and at President Donald Trump’s invitation.
The palace released statement on its official website to confirm the monarch’s visit.
The statement reads, “On advice of His Majesty’s Government, and at the invitation of The President of the United States, The King and Queen will undertake a State Visit to the United States of America.”
King Charles and Camilla’s programme will celebrate the historic connections and the modern bilateral relationship between the United Kingdom and the United States, marking the 250th anniversary of American Independence.
It further said the King will then continue to Bermuda to undertake “His Majesty’s first Royal Visit as Monarch to a British Overseas Territory.”
The King will visit Bermuda without the Queen.
The palace has confirmed King Charles US state visit days after Prince Harry extended an olive branch to the monarch.
Harry’s friend said if the Duke was invited by the King, he would get a package of security that automatically kicks in.
“He'd like an invite to Sandringham.”
“Would he go? It would depend who was there. If the King was to say, 'Come up and spend some time with the family', he'd love that."
The insider went on saying, "There is not a world in which he brings the kids back unless there is an enhanced security package around them."
