Meghan Markle’s reaction to dad girlfriend: What she really thinks about potential ‘thorn in her side’

Meghan Markle’s reaction has been long awaited ever since news of her father Thomas Markle’s new relationship became public knowledge. But for those still unversed, he is now dating Rio Canedo, a Filipina nurse he met in rehab after his leg amputation. Now with all this happening, a source has finally revealed what the Duchess of Sussex feels, to Woman’s Day.

According to their findings, “Meghan found out from the papers, as usual. She’s shocked and thinks it’s sad because it seems from the age gap and the state of him that he’s at risk of being used.” What also elicits gasps is the age gap because Rio is said to be in her 40’s while Meghan’s father is 81.

Reportedly, “Meghan’s used to dealing with swipes from her family, but she is concerned about this woman in her father’s life.”

Furthermore, what also increases her fears is talk of ‘love-story interviews because while she has no doubt her father truly thinks this is love, the overarching fear is that ‘this Rio woman’ could “easily become an even bigger thorn in her side than her father.”

However, what has made clear is that the love story ‘developed gradually’ and overtime, in an interview with The Daily Mail which a source close to the Duchess’ father sat though. “Thomas is in love and he feels like someone’s finally got his back,” they said. Plus “Rio’s been a wonderful influence on him” they noted. Cause “he’s losing weight and the colour’s coming back to him. So it’s hard to argue that she might have ulterior motives when he’s so happy. He doesn’t expect to hear from Meghan but for the first time he’s starting to not care.”
