Sophie Turner’s injury has put Prime Video’s new television show, Tomb Raider, on halt.

On Sunday, March 29, Amazon MGM Studio issued a statement to Deadline, addressing the unexpected pause in the production of Tomb Raider.

The statement read, “Turner recently experienced a minor injury. As a precaution, production has briefly paused to allow her time to recover. We look forward to resuming production as soon as possible.”

Notably, the studio did not reveal details of the injury the 30-year-old actress is suffering from as she is playing archaeologist and adventurer Lara Croft in the forthcoming television adaptation based on the Tomb Raider video game series.

This news comes after the show’s executive producer Phoebe Waller-Bridge, an English actress and screenwriter, announced Turner’s casting, releasing a statement.

She said, “I’m so excited to announce the formidable Sophie Turner as our Lara alongside this phenomenal creative team.”

“It’s not very often you get to make a show of this scale with a character you grew up loving. Everyone on board is wildly passionate about Lara and are all as outrageous, brave, and hilarious as she is. Get your artifacts out… Croft is coming…,” Waller-Bridge noted.

Turner also articulated her thoughts, admitting, “I am thrilled beyond measure, to be playing Lara Croft. She’s such an iconic character, who means so much to so many – and I am giving everything I’ve got.”

“They’re massive shoes to fill, following in the steps of Angelina [Jolie] and Alicia [Vikander] with their powerhouse performances, but with Phoebe at the helm, we (and Lara) are all in very safe hands. I can’t wait for you all to see what we have cooking,” the Games of Throne star noted.

It is pertinent to mention that along with Sophie Turner, Tomb Raider, which started filming in January of this year, will also star Jason Isaacs, Martin Bobb-Semple, and Sigourney.
