King Harald rushed to hospital as palace issues statement on health scare
King Harald, per a statement by the palace, was vacationing in Spain when the health scare incident happened
King Harald, during a winter vacation in Spain's Canary Islands, rushed to hospital after being treated for a yet-to-be-announced infection and dehydration, says the Norwegian royal palace.
In a statement, the officials say, "His Majesty the King was admitted this evening to the Hospital Universitario Hospiten Sur in Tenerife. The king is being treated for an infection and dehydration, and his condition is, under the circumstances, good."
In addition, the statement adds the King's personal physician will travel to Spain to take a check on him.
"The King’s personal physician will travel to Tenerife to assist the local healthcare services. The royal couple are currently on a private stay in Tenerife for their winter holiday."
"We will provide an update on the King’s health on Wednesday, 25 February, after the personal physician has assessed the situation," the statement concludes.
Though Harald, who has been monarch since 1991, after a health scare, is said to be in good condition. He is recently turned 89.
