Savannah Guthrie requests prayers amid her mother's disappearance
Savannah Guthrie breaks silence amid sudden disappearance and possible kidnapping of her mother, Nancy Guthrie
Savannah Guthrie has finally addressed the disappearance and possible kidnapping of her mother, Nancy Guthrie.
Taking to her Instagram on Monday, February 2, the American broadcaster and journalist showed gratitude to her well-wishers for their constant support and prayers.
Savannah posted a picture on which “PLEASE PRAY” was written, while she penned a lengthy caption that read, “we believe in prayer. we believe in voices raised in unison, in love, in hope. we believe in goodness. we believe in humanity. above all, we believe in Him.”
The 54-year-old went on to offer her heartfelt thanks to her supporters, “thank you for lifting your prayers with ours for our beloved mom, our dearest Nancy, a woman of deep conviction, a good and faithful servant. raise your prayers with us and believe with us that she will be lifted by them in this very moment.”
Savannah then quoted a verse from the Bible, “He will keep in perfect peace those whose hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord," she penned, stating, "a verse of Isaiah for all time for all of us."
"Bring her home," Savannah concluded.
For those unaware, Nancy, 84, went missing on January 31, 2026. The Pima County Sheriff's Department in Arizona started a search operation the next day. She was last seen at her residence near East Skyline Drive and North Campbell Avenue at around 9:30 p.m.
On February 1, Sheriff Chris Nanos conducted a press conference, informing that a search-and-rescue mission was launched after Savannah’s family filed a report of her sudden disappearance.
Nanos suspects that Nancy was kidnapped. He told NBC News, “I think she was abducted.”
“This is just really sad for our community. Savannah is family to us. Her family is devastated, and this just does not happen here,” the sheriff quipped.
