Sarah Ferguson faces major setback as she continues to pay the price of past ties with Epstein
Sarah Ferguson suffered huge blow as charity closes as more Epstein files are being released
Sarah Ferguson continues to pay the price for her past association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
A new report by GB News has revealed that the former Duchess of York’s charity, Sarah’s trust, will shut down indefinitely after it was revealed in newly released Epstein files that she allegedly asked the late financier to “marry” her.
The messages, reportedly sent around 2009 and 2010, are said to show Fergie thanking Epstein and praising him in personal exchanges following his release from jail.
Other reported emails suggest discussions about marriage in a casual or joking tone with Ferguson writing, “You are a legend.”
“I really don’t have the words to describe, my love, gratitude for your generosity and kindness,” she added.
Now, the organisation, launched in 2020, confirmed it will stop operations in the light of new controversial revelations surrounding Fergie.
The charity was originally set up to support frontline workers during the Covid-19 pandemic by providing food, protective gear and other essential supplies.
In a official statement, a spokesman for the charity said, “Our chair Sarah Ferguson and the board of trustees have agreed that with regret the charity will shortly close for the foreseeable future.
“This has been under discussion and in train for some months. We remain extremely proud of the work of the trust over recent years.
"We have partnered with over 60 other charities in over 20 countries, providing education, healthcare, crisis response and environmental projects.
“We delivered over 150,000 aid parcels during the Covid pandemic, provided medical aid and training for those affected by the war in Ukraine and delivered education for over 200 children in Ghana.”
