Timothee Chalamet makes shocking claim about performing Bob Dylan songs on 'SNL'
Timothee Chalamet spent big to perform Bob Dylan songs on 'Saturday Night Live'
Timothee Chalamet has made a surprising revelation about singing Bob Dylan's songs on Saturday Night Live.
The actor, who played the role of legendary musician in A Complete Unknown, revealed during a Q&A session at London's Prince Charles Cinema how far he went to honour Dylan.
Chalamet claimed that he spent "over six figures" of his own money to perform Dylan's songs on SNL in January 2025, when he served as both host and musical guest.
He said, "I really don’t look at it as promotion or marketing. I see myself as an artist expanding."
"I feel like I'm expressing myself ... I feel like I’ve got the keys, I’ve got the right attitude, I’ve got the juice," Chalamet added.
The Dune star admitted, "I spent over six figures out of my pocket to do the SNL performance."
Adding, "Lorne Michaels said, ‘Hey, do you want to host SNL?’ I said, ‘Yeah, can I do the music?’ He’s like, ‘No.’ I said, ‘Alright, I’m not doing it.’ He said, ‘okay, do the music.’ But I refused to take no for an answer."
However, Lorne Michaels ended up agreeing and allowing Timothee Chalamet to perform his "personal favourites" of Bob Dylan.
