Kristen Stewart breaks silence on her 2017 'SNL' monologue
Kristen Stewart talks about her 2017 Saturday Night Live monologue
Kristen Stewart is reflecting on her decision to come out publicly when she serves as a Saturday Night Live host in 2017.
On Monday, February 2, the 35-year-old American actress and director gave an interview on ABC News Live Prime with Linsey Davis, nine years after her Saturday Night Live monologue.
Speaking to President Donald Trump at that time, Stewart said she was "so gay, dude.”
In the clip, she quipped, "It was less about sharing the details of my relationship and more so acknowledging that there are people that don't get full access to being alive because they're hiding.”
"I've experienced perspectives [and] I've had conversations with people I've known, loved and trusted and still do, who thought, 'Your career would go better if you didn't go outside holding your girlfriend's hand.' And I was like, 'So you want me to live a partial life? And you want me to uphold, perpetuate and sustain a system that excludes people?' And I just can't do that," the Snow White and the Huntsman star explained.
For those unaware, the romantic life of Stewart has been a subject of discussion since the 2010s when she was dating her Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson.
It is pertinent to mention that she came out as gay during her SNL monologue, where she replied to almost 11 tweets of Trump about her romantic life with Pattinson.
