Kristen Stewart's new film dubbed 'nightmare' version of 'Emily in Paris'
Kristen Stewart’s upcoming film 'Full Phil' also stars Woody Harrelson
Kristen Stewart’s upcoming film, Full Phil, has been described as ‘Emily in Paris’ in hell — a fever dream, a nightmare version of it,” by its director Quentin Dupieux.
Quentin’s film follows a wealthy American industrialist’s (Woody Harrelson) trip to Paris to reconnect with his daughter, played by Kristen.
In a new interview, the director spoke about the making of Full Phil and the themes it explores.
When told that some people are comparing the film to the White Lotus, he said, “I recently watched a few episodes of the latest season with Charlotte Le Bon, who’s also in my film. I don’t really see the similarity. White Lotus is quite realistic. Yes, there are two people in a hotel, but there’s much more than that. And we don’t stay in the hotel the whole movie.”
He added that the movie is more like Emily in Paris, but a fever dream version of it.
Elsewhere, he praised Kristen and Woody both for saying yes to the film quickly.
He gushed, “We embarked on the film as soon as Woody came on board. He accepted without reading the script, which is extraordinary for an American actor,”
The search for an actress to play Woody’s daughter began as soon as he got onboard. When they landed on Kristen, the Twilight star wasted no time in saying yes.
"She took a weekend to consider it and accepted within 48 hours, which is rare. I think there was a challenge in the film that excited her. She joined just like that — very brave of her," he said of Kristen Stewart.
