Olivia Dean fights back tears after winning first Grammy Award
The 2026 Grammy Awards took place at Crypto.com Arena in LA on Sunday
Olivia Dean got emotional on Sunday as she won the first Grammy of her career.
The 26-year-old singer was honored with the Best New Artist trophy for her breakout album, Art of Loving, at the Grammy Awards, which took place on Sunday, February 1.
Olivia couldn't hold back the tears while receiving the award from Chappell Roan.
She began her emotional speech by saying, “I never really imagined that I would be up here, let alone nominated, so thank you so much."
The Easy to Love hitmaker further said, "So thank you so much. I just want to say that an artist is really nothing without their team. Emily, my best friend, my manager, we've been doing this for 10 years."
"So this is for you, too, my family," continued Olivia. "I guess I wanna say I’m up here as a granddaughter of an immigrant. I wouldn’t be here … I’m a product of bravery and I think those people deserve to be celebrated.
Concluding her speech, the Man I Need singer said, "So, yeah, we’re nothing without each other."
Olivia won the award in the Best New Artist category, beating out seven strong contenders, including Katseye, The Marías, Sombr, Alex Warren, Addison Rae, Lola Young, and Leon Thomas.
