Epstein leaves $50m, private island and properties for girlfriend in final will
Epstein signed the will just two days before he died in jail
Freshly released Justice Department files reveal Jeffrey Epstein planned to hand his girlfriend a staggering fortune in final days - including $50 million, a 33-carat diamond ring and a private island.
Epstein signed the will just two days before he died in jail while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
Documents show the 66-year-old intended to distribute a $288 million estate, with much of it earmarked for those closest to him.
His girlfriend, Karyna Shuliak, originally from Belarus and believed to have been in a relationship with Epstein for nearly a decade, was set to receive the lion’s share.
Alongside millions in cash, she was reportedly left Little Saint James island as well as luxury properties in Paris and Florida.
According to the Daily Mail, Epstein also paid for Shuliak’s mother’s costly medical treatment and may have helped fund an upscale home for her parents in Minsk.
Others named in the will were also in line for large sums. His lawyer, Darren Indyke, stood to receive $50 million, while his accountant was set for $25 million.
The will was signed by Indyke eight days after Epstein’s death.
Epstein’s estate was ultimately placed into a trust, which has since been used to compensate victims and cover taxes and legal costs. Accounts show around $127 million remains.
Shuliak was reportedly the last person to speak to Epstein on the phone before he died by suicide in August 2019.
She had also visited him days earlier at the Metropolitan Correctional Center.
