Anthropic rolls out Claude Cowork for non-coders
Claude Cowork helps users manage files, compile reports, and automate tasks on Mac
Anthropic rolls out Claude Cowork, a new AI capability within Claude AI that extends from conversation and writing code to broader knowledge and office tasks. The capability seeks to simplify the work life of knowledge professionals in marketing, administration, and other areas.
Users are able to instruct the Claude AI to carry out tasks ranging from managing files to editing documents through simple language commands.
In contrast to the conventional chat experience, Claude Cowork is an agent. After being provided with a command, the system formulates its own plan and carries it out, allowing users to engage or modify the command as needed. This update combines the roles of the Claude Code and Model Context Protocol integration, making it easier to access through the desktop interface even for non-tech users.
Claude Cowork features
- Access and manage folders on a computer.
- Read, edit, and generate files.
- Compile reports, organise files, and automate larger tasks.
- Parallel task execution and task modification during runtime
- Expandable via connectors for external data and business productivity skills
Claude Cowork currently supports MacOS and is available as a beta research preview for Claude Max subscribers. Anthropic has not yet shared details about Windows support or wider availability.
