Little secret: Why does The Crown's Queen Elizabeth hate social media?
'The Crown' star Claire Foy reveals her true feelings about Queen Elizabeth role

Claire Foy has opened up about her experience of working in the royal drama The Crown.

Despite winning two Emmy awards and a Golden Globe for playing the role of Queen Elizabeth, the actress has called it "just another role."

In an interview with the Harper's Bazaar UK, Claire shared, "I’d been acting for a good 10 years before then, so I had a decent gauge on how it all worked and enough experience under my belt to know that it was just another role."

The actress went on to admit that since it's "very rare that you’d ever have that amount of people watch something you do," she is "really proud" of her experience. "But I also thought, ‘I’m still the same actor I was six months ago, doing the same acting’," Claire noted.

She said, "That was good for me because it meant I was willing just to be amazed about these extraordinary experiences I was having, as opposed to believing the hype."

On the other hand, Claire Foy also expressed her hatred for social media. The All of Us Strangers star said, "That was good for me because it meant I was willing just to be amazed about these extraordinary experiences I was having, as opposed to believing the hype."

Adding, "It’s very strange to watch these things happen from the outside – to see that everything is changing, and I don’t feel I’m changing with it."

The Crown, starring Claire Foy as the late monarch premiered its first season on Netflix on November 4, 2016 and the final season 6 in late 2023.
