Prince Harry, Meghan Markle see route back to UK after publicist's exit
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could spend more time in UK as aide returns
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could spend more time in the UK following the return of their senior aide, James Holt, to London.
Holt has worked with the couple for nearly ten years and will continue as a senior adviser, overseeing their overseas humanitarian work.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s move has sparked fresh speculation about the Harry and Meghan’s possible return to the country.
Speaking with GB News, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said security and public opinion will play a key role if the Sussexes decide to return or plan extended stay in the UK.
“The latest YouGov poll in October had Harry’s popularity in the UK at 28 per cent and Meghan’s at 18 per cent,” he said.
The expert continued, “This could mean she does not return, especially with the press so hostile too, but his request for a security review may well mean he gets the full-time police protection that he had when a senior working royal.”
He noted that such a development “undoubtedly would lead to more visits to the UK” by Harry, adding that he could also travel frequently because of the Invictus Games.
Meanwhile, Holt has decided to return to London with his family but will continue working closely with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
He will step back from day-to-day leadership at Archewell Philanthropies but remain a senior adviser and will oversee their overseas humanitarian projects.
It was confirmed by Sussexes’ spokesman, who said Holt “will remain a senior philanthropic advisor for the couple and Archewell Philanthropies, supporting their humanitarian trips overseas in 2026.”
