‘Big Brother’ alum Mickey Lee dies after flu-related complications
Her death was confirmed by her family on Friday via her own Instagram account
Mickey Lee, a former contestant on Big Brother, has died at the age of 35.
Lee passed away on Thursday after suffering multiple cardiac arrests linked to complications from the flu.
Her death was confirmed by her family on Friday via her own Instagram account.
“Mickey captured the hearts of audiences nationwide through her appearance on Big Brother, where her authenticity, strength, and spirit left a lasting impression on fans and fellow cast members alike,” they wrote.
“She will be remembered for the joy she brought into the lives of so many and for the genuine connections she formed both on and off screen.”
Earlier in the week, Lee’s family launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover medical expenses related to what they described as her ongoing “medical journey.”
According to the fundraiser, Lee had been hospitalised in critical but stable condition after experiencing multiple cardiac arrests following flu complications. As of Friday afternoon, the campaign had raised more than $32,500.
Lee was originally from Jacksonville, Florida, and had been living in Atlanta at the time of her death, according to information shared by her family.
She appeared on Season 27 of Big Brother, which aired on CBS this year.
“Mickey’s light, legacy, and impact will never be forgotten,” her family wrote, closing their statement with a tribute to her life and influence.
