Adam Duritz gets honest about Courtney Cox's relationship
Adam Duritz and Courtney Cox dated briefly in 1997
Adam Duritz has opened up about his past relationship with Courteney Cox, admitting that making it work was far from easy.
Speaking in the band's new documentary, Counting Crows: Have You Seen Me Lately?, the 61-year-old musician reflected on his mid-1990s romance with the Friends star, revealing that their differences ultimately proved difficult to overcome.
For those unversed, Duritz dated Cox after being previously set up with her Friends co-star Jennifer Aniston.
While the relationship lasted longer than many of his others, Duritz confessed it was complicated from the start.
"Courteney was probably my longest relationship, but I don’t know whether we were really together for a lot of it," he shared candidly.
According to the singer, their contrasting personalities often put them out of sync.
"We were very, very different people," he explained.
"And there were moments that were absolutely wonderful together and there were moments where it was really hard."
Duritz went on to sum up the core issue behind their split, admitting, "We just weren’t on the same wavelength."
