Timothée Chalamet makes-jaw-dropping confession about his training for 'Marty Supreme'
Timothée Chalamet shares how long he trained himself to be able to play Marty in the upcoming film
Timothée Chalamet recently got candid and revealed how many years he trained himself to play table tennis in Marty Supreme.
On the Wednesday, December 17 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the 29-year-old American-French actor talked about his forthcoming sports comedy-drama film produced and directed by Josh Safdie, which loosely chronicles the life of the iconic table tennis champion Marty Reisman in 1940s New York.
While conversing with Fallon, Chalamet, who is portraying Marty, unveiled that he dedicated seven years of his life to mastering table tennis for the film.
He said, “This was about a six to seven year training process. I met with [director] Josh Safdie in 2018 about this film.
“Now, I don't mean day in and day out, it's more like on and off... It was a lot of training,” the two-time Oscar nominated star quipped. “It started during covid and ping pong is a great thing.”
“The gift of my life, the gratitude exercise. I live every morning to go ‘Wow. For some reason I'm getting the opportunity to work,’ why not go 10,000% hard,” Chalamet stated.
Before concluding, it is pertinent to mention that Marty Supreme, which will get a limited 70mm release in New York City & Los Angeles on December 19, 2025, will be released nationwide on Thursday, December 25, 2025.
