Meghan Markle may reconnect with her estranged father Thomas Markle soon following his major health scare.
According to reports, “progress” has been made towards communication between the Duchess of Sussex and her father.
A source told GB News that things are moving in a positive direction after Thomas’ leg was amputated because of a serious blood clot.
The source said they have not had direct contact yet, but there is hope that the father-daughter might talk within the next day.
The 81-year-old is recovering in a hospital in the Philippines after doctors had to amputate his left leg.
This comes after it was reported that Meghan had not contacted Thomas, who also told Daily Mail that he had not heard from Meghan, but "would love to speak to her" while he still can.
However, sources close to Meghan confirmed she sent an email to her father on December 5, adding that they had kept the email private to protect the family’s privacy and avoid more public attention.
“The Mail made no attempt to contact the Duchess’ team, prior to publication to verify the claims in their report,” Meghan’s team told GB News.
“Had they asked – particularly in light of the quotes they relied upon from Mr Markle and hospital staff – we would simply have told them to ask Mr Markle to check his email.
“We first saw the story only after it was published. We immediately informed the Mail that the duchess had, in fact, emailed her father – a detail we had deliberately chosen not to share in order to avoid further dragging this private matter into the public eye.”
