Taylor Swift follows Prince Harry on Stephen Colbert show
Stephen Colbert on Monday shared a glimpse from the upcoming show featuring Taylor Swift
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert will end in May 2026 after 33 years on air, the CBS television network announced in a surprise statement in July.
Colbert's criticism of US President Donald Trump was cited as a possible reason for his upcoming departure, but CBS maintains it's purely a financial decision.
The host himself acknowledged the timing is suspicious, but said he's not speculating on the reasons behind the cancellation.
Meanwhile, as his departure comes closer, Colbert is making the most of the remaining time on the show.
A week after inviting Britain's Prince Harry, who Trump doesn't like one bit, on December 3, the next guest on Late Show will be Taylor Swift, the US popstar who's also disliked by the Republican for opposing him during the last year's presidential election.
During his appearance on the show, Prince Harry took a swipe at Americans for electing a King, a reference to Trump, drawing mixed reactions from US fans.
Both Colbert and Harry invited the wrath of Trump supporters on social media, but one thing which the episode succeeded in achieving was that it was widely discussed on the internet.
While it's not known whether Taylor Swift will also be mentioning Trump during her appearance, it's evident that appearances of of high-profile guests on the show speaks volumes of Colbert's popularity.
