Piers Morgan reacts as Prince Harry wins UK government review of his police protection
Piers Morgan reacted after the Home Office ordered a threat assessment for the first time since Prince Harry stepped down
Outspoken journalist Piers Morgan has broken his silence over reports Prince Harry has won the Home Office review into his demand for 24-hour armed police protection when in UK.
The Daily Mail, citing a report by The Sun, says Archie and Lilibet doting father has won the Home Office review of his police security detail when visiting the UK.
The Duke was furious when the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (RAVEC) removed his 24-hour armed protection in 2020 after he stepped down as a working royal.
Now, the report says the Home Office has ordered a threat assessment for the first time since Harry stepped down.
The Royal and VIP Executive Committee has instructed its Risk Management Board to reassess Harry’s threat level.
The government spokesman said last night: “The UK government’s protective security system is rigorous and proportionate.
“It is our long-standing policy not to provide detailed information on those arrangements, as doing so could compromise their integrity and affect individuals’ security.”
The Daily Mail shared the news on its official X, formerly Twitter handle, saying “Prince Harry 'wins Government review into demand for 24-hour armed police protection'”
Reacting to the report, Piers Morgan, who is a major critic of Harry and Meghan Markle, says “Why should UK taxpayers finance this entitled brat’s security when he does zero public duty for this country?”
The former Good Morning Britain presenter added, “He’s made millions from trashing the Royals/Monarchy - he can use that ill-gotten cash for personal protection.”
