King Charles desperate to see Prince Archie, Lilibet on upcoming US trip
King Charles highly unlikely to pay visit to Prince Harry during his upcoming US trip
King Charles is said to desperately want to spend time with Prince Harry’s children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, as he is set to travel to US for a state visit.
However, royal sources have claimed that any reunion with his estranged son is highly unlikely during the King’s planned state visit to the US next year.
Speaking with Radar Online, they noted that even though the monarch would love the chance to see his grandchildren, his tightly packed diplomatic schedule will not allow him any room for personal meetings.
"It's easy to imagine Charles wanting to see his grandchildren, and the Sussexes could theoretically fly to New York or wherever the King and Queen are for a brief meeting,” they said.
The source added, "Any encounter would steal attention from the visit's purpose, so it's extremely unlikely Charles will want the distraction of meeting Harry.
"It is also more likely, Harry and his family will be advised to stay out of the spotlight during the trip."
The trip, which includes a White House visit and events linked to America’s 250th anniversary celebrations, is expected to keep Charles and Queen Camilla focused on official duties.
"State visits are extremely demanding, with schedules planned months ahead and packed with carefully arranged events to strengthen diplomatic ties,” another palace source revealed.
“There's hardly any free time, and it's hard to imagine the King making a detour across the country to see Harry and his family in California.
"The King's attention will be on the official schedule. Any family gatherings would be informal and risk diverting attention from the diplomatic priorities."
