Duchess Sophie champions The Lighthouse charity and coos over babies
Duchess Sophie coos over and plays with babies in a new royal engagement
Duchess Sophie has just taken on an official engagement today and it involved opening the Guildford hub, of The Lighthouse, of which she is patron.
At the event, she also spent time cooing over babies, and packing Christmas bags, as well as spoke at length about the benefits that are presented to any community when volunteering becomes a foundation.
The mom of a teenage Earl and a 22-year-old Lady was even pictured during one of her moments of cooing, when she met a six-month old baby Dottie, and her mother Lucy, alongside Aya and her own eight-month-old Wateen.
The center itself provides support to mothers, babies and even helps with bereavement support to anyone struggling with a loss.
The mother even spoke to Hello! about the Duchess’ meeting with her infant and said, “she loves to cuddle with everyone. And after the group photograph at the end, we were stood by the Duchess and she turned around and had another chat with Dottie, and said how good she's been.”
She also gushed over the center itself and admits, “Dottie was five weeks old when we first came along and we've been every week since. She's got lots of little buddies here and it's just so nice to get out and talk with other mums, and you don't necessarily have to worry about the babies too much, as it's a safe space.”
The mum even admits to having had spread the word in her local community and says, Of all the other groups I've gone to, these are the friendliest people, the nicest people. I can't recommend enough.”
