Jessie J reveals truth behind ‘beast’ lyric after Channing Tatum rumors
Jessie J pleads to ‘move on’ after Channing Tatum buzz
Jessie J is clearing the air on rumors that her new diss track Threw It Away was about her ex Channing Tatum.
The 37-year-old singer was recently under speculation after she released her recent track, which left fans wondering if the lyrics, referring to her ex as a "beast", are about Channing.
It is pertinent to mention that the pair dated from 2018 to 2020.
However, Jessie set the record straight by taking it to her Instagram account and said in a since-expired Story that Channing is not the inspiration for her new song.
“Threw it away is NOT about @channingtatum,” she revealed. “I NEVER said it was.”
The British singer further said that she felt the need to speak in the defence of Channing because she knew "if the shoe was on the other foot he would correct the narrative too.”
Referring to his 12-year-old daughter Everly whom he shares with ex-wife Jenna Dewan. Jessie went on to say, “He is a Dad and an amazing one and I would never want his beautiful daughter to ever read any of it or be told about it thinking I said it about her Dad. Not fair."
“Channing and I ended our relationship on great terms and I have nothing but respect for him, he was never a beast to me," she added.
Jessie, who released her new album Don’t Tease Me with a Good Time on November 28, said that she felt bad about the news highlighting Channing as a "beast" and requested everyone to “move on now.”
