Kneeland, just before his death, was involved in a high-speed police chase, reaching speeds of over 145 mph, making multiple “unsafe lane changes” as he passed other drivers on November 5, 2025.
Shocking new details have emerged about the events leading to the tragic death of Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland.
Officials report that just before his death, Kneeland was involved in a high-speed police chase, reaching speeds of over 145 mph, while making multiple “unsafe lane changes” as he passed other drivers on November 5, 2025.
The NFL world is mourning the sudden passing of Marshawn Kneeland, who died at age 24 in Texas.
The chase began around 10:33 p.m. on November 5, when an officer from the Texas Department of Public Safety first observed his overspeeding.
After the crash and fleeing on foot, Kneeland went missing for hours before the authorities discovered the car (Dodge Charger) in a grass field on the Dallas Parkway, as reported by TMZ.
The real drama began when police did not find his body inside the car, except for an empty holster, prompting them to launch a search operation using canines and aircraft.
At midnight, around 1:30 a.m. on November 6, a heat signature was identified inside a portable toilet.
When officers reached the location, it was too late; what they found was a fatal, self-inflicted gunshot wound on Marshawn Kneeland’s body.
Meanwhile, the official cause of death remains pending with the Collin County Medical Examiner’s office, the series of events cast a tragic shadow over what was a rising career.
Marshawn Kneeland was drafted in the 2nd round out of Western Michigan last year and was in the middle of his second season with the Dallas Cowboys.
