Microsoft launches ‘superintelligence’ team targeting early medical diagnosis
Microsoft unveiled a superintelligence team to start on medical diagnoses
Microsoft is forming a new team, called the MAI Superintelligence Team to initiate advanced, specialized AI research.
This AI will be more capable than humans in certain domains, with a primary focus on medical diagnosis.
The project follows the efforts made by Meta Platforms. Whose technological breakthroughs have both advanced the field and provoked distrust regarding their ability to deliver new developments.
Microsoft is not chasing unlimited AGI as, because Mustafa Suleyman doubts that autonomous machines could be controlled, despite how to maintain human oversight.
The superintelligence team will be able to solve certain problems with a real-world benefit.
Microsoft is undergoing significant changes to pursue a specialized way to use AI that faces challenges and still requires breakthroughs.
Additionally, AI will increase our life expectancy and help to detect preventable diseases much earlier, thereby transforming global health.
